We have interviewed John Clarke, our Assistant Apartment Manager at SACO Manchester to find out what makes him tick, read below to find out more:
Name: John Clarke.
Job title: Assistant Apartment Manager - Manchester.
How long have you worked for SACO Manchester?: 1 year – since opening.
Likes: Bruce Lee, Jimi Hendrix, and The Impressionists.
Dislikes: People who cut their nails on the train.
Hobbies: Sailing, mountain biking and cultural stuff.
Favourite food: A good old Sunday roast.
Favourite drink: Pint of John Smith's Smooth.
What does working at SACO Manchester involve for you?: I inspect the apartments prior to a guest's arrival, support and train our team, take bookings, assist guests with requests and maintain the high SACO standard.
John suggests: Downloading a free Smartphone application for Manchester. These can help you find great local restaurants, weekly events all over Manchester and keep up to date with the regional news. Try downloading the Manchester10 app. which provides an independent pick of the best activities available in Manchester each week.
A day in Manchester city centre with John would involve: I would visit the Imperial War Museum North or the Manchester Art Gallery first, then get down to Sam’s Chop House on Cross Street for some traditional English grub. You must take the opportunity to sample a locally brewed beverage. I would recommend either Robinson’s or Hydes.
Why not pop into some shops? King Street has high-end stores such as Armani and Vivienne Westwood or head to Afflecks Palace, which provides an emporium of eclecticism; anything from top hats to tattoos. Finish off the day in the trendy and bohemian Northern Quarter, there are a couple of fantastic restaurants and a plethora of ‘indie’ bars and clubs.
