Quirky Valentine's Day

Thursday 29 January 2015 by Liam Tullberg

Show that special someone that you care with one of our unconventional (but brilliant) Valentine's Day ideas!

We've covered the length of the country asking our knowledgeable SACO people for their insider recommendations using their expert local knowledge, and we've picked out a few suggestions just for you. From dining in the dark to puzzling your way out of a room, there's plenty of ideas here to impress even those with the highest of standards!

Hollie, our Online Digital Marketing Executive in Bristol, suggests Puzzlair. This is a very unconventional date, you get locked into a room and need to work out all the clues to get yourselves out before time's up. A brilliant way to get to know each other better and a bit of fun! Not for those who suffer from claustrophobia, but otherwise, an exciting and certainly unusual date.

Joanna, Apartments Manager for the City of London, suggests Dans Le Noir, a restaurant where you dine in compete darkness in order to heighten your tastebud senses. This is an experience unlike any other, food is ordered before you enter and is served by people who are blind. A quirky take on something we all think we know, be prepared to experience food in a whole new way!

John, Assistant Apartment Manager in Manchester, says the best place for a date in Manchester is at the Royal Exchange! Grab a bite to eat at Mr Thomas's Chop House, then head to the theatre, and then maybe a night cap at Panacea. If you're looking for something to do during the day, following the Lemn Sissay poems on the streets is also romantic way to tour the city!

Kev, Assistant Apartment Manager in Bath, suggests an early morning balloon ride followed by a late breakfast at the Priory Hotel. Not for those of you with an aversion to early mornings, but truly a beautiful way to see the countryside and certainly romantic!

Christine, Apartment Manager in Glasgow, suggests the La Bodega Tapas Bar. They hold a weekly salsa club with tapas served all evening and a class upstairs so you can learn some salsa moves yourself! Dance with Attitude is a dance school that teaches almost every type of dance you can think of, ideal for both beginners and those with a little more experience. Learning a new dance together is fun and entertaining and sure to created loads of memories!

With all the hype, Valentine's day can be more of a stress than a romantic evening, but we're hoping that this year, that's not the case! Let us know what you get up to!
