The gardens leads to the ruins of Reading Abbey, an ancient monument and setting for open air theatre in the summer months. Wander through the ruins to the Kennet and Avon Canal, strolling past Reading Gaol and the Oscar Wilde gates. The McIlroy Building is conveniently located for all of Reading transport connections. Reading train station is a five minute walk; where First Great Western operates services to Slough, Oxford and London Paddington, with South West Trains operating services to Basingstoke, Bracknell and Wokingham. The M4 motorway is an eight minute drive, connecting the Thames Valley road network. Heathrow is the closest airport to these apartments – a half-hour drive.
