Fall for Bath this Autumn

Wednesday 21 September 2016 by Florence Evans Bath really embraces Autumn and this beautiful city takes the changing seasons in it's stride. Visit this Georgian gem for a delightful weekend break.

Fall for Bath this coming season, in the beautiful city that embraces Autumn with a golden glow. Here are our top tips for enjoying all Bath has to offer:

Follow your walk with a hearty pub lunch

Wholesome, warming food is the perfect accompaniment to a day out exploring in crisp, autumnal weather. Venture out of Bath city centre for a walk to the countryside, where you’ll find Lansdown Hill and Bath racecourse. The Blathwayt Arms, a quintessentially British pub, is perfect for hungry walkers requiring a relaxing finish to the day.

Despite the weather turning colder, when the sun is shining, being outside and wrapped up warm is an unbeatable feeling. Enjoy any variety of Sunday roast with a great city vista from the rooftop dining terrace at Hall and Woodhouse. Located just off the upper end of the high street, this popular venue with quirky décor offers reliably good food and a jolly atmosphere.

The Bath Film Festival

Throughout the seasons, the Bath Film Festival plays any manner of popular films, documentaries, and previews across various venues throughout the city. Finding Dory, The Lady in The Van and Spotlight are just a few of the screenings available to watch. Some viewings are pedal-powered by bicycles in outdoor venues, whereas some showings are in the much-loved Little Theatre Cinema of Bath.

The Great Bath Feast

There’s no surprise that some of Great Britain’s top chefs and household names are drawn to the Georgian gem of the South West, with its heritage backdrop, bountiful local produce and stunning dining venues. This citywide event gets top chefs championing local produce – think gorgeously warm, subtly spiced flavours and traditional but always local dishes. Running from the 1st to the 9th of October, Bath’s businesses come together to showcase a week of cooking demonstrations, tastings, workshops and supper clubs, with names as big as Raymond Blanc at the forefront of this gastronomic affair.
