Jersey - the foodies paradise

Friday 16 May 2014 by Jo Redman If you’re looking for a bit of a treat then head off to the beautiful Channel Islands; St Helier in Jersey, to be precise. The largest of the islands, and closer to France than England, Jersey is easily accessible (plane or ferry), and is the perfect place for a short break – or longer if you prefer. With stunning beaches, stacks of history and as the title suggests - it’s a real foodies paradise.

It’s no wonder that with a larder of fresh natural produce readily available on the island a number of acclaimed restaurants have sprung up. Foodies cannot help but be impressed by the vast array of dishes created by often world renowned chefs.

Accolades are in abundance, with Michelin Starred eateries, Michelin Bib Gourmand holders, numerous AA Rosette awards and countless other establishments recommended in the Good Food Guide.

There are four Michelin starred restaurants alone – with three of them being in the heart of St Helier and the fourth The Atlantic Hotel and Ocean Restaurant being only a taxi ride away. Base yourself in a peaceful SACO Merlin House Apartment and you will have the freedom to sample as many of the local restaurants as you see fit….

An exquisite modern British menu with a decadent Jersey twist. From the Amuse Bouche to the last morsel of desert – diners will experience a culinary journey with unique flavour combinations that truly showcase Jersey produce at its best.
