SACO raises over £300 for Teenage Cancer Trust

The SACO team recently put the ‘fun’ into fundraising with a host of activities in aid of the Teenage Cancer Trust.

First off, individuals from the Head Office in Bristol and apartments in Bath, Birmingham and Manchester channelled their inner Mary Berrys with The Great SACO Bake Off.

Some delicious cakes were made and sold in aid of TCT and a winner was crowned. Congratulations again to Fiona in our Operations team for her heavenly Orange Drizzle Cake! Feel free to make it again any time you fancy!

On Friday our Business Development team donned their aprons to sell everyone in Head Office bacon sandwiches and, on Monday, we held a raffle to win a weekend away with our friends at StayCity. Congratulations to Area Operations Manager, Sandie Prior, for her win!

With these three activities alone we made over £300 for TCT, which takes the grand total we’ve raised since early 2013 to over £17,000. We also offer free accommodation at SACO Bristol - Broad Quay to families of young cancer patients being treated at the nearby oncology hospital.

Around seven young people aged between 13 and 24 are diagnosed with cancer every day in the UK. They need expert treatment and support from the moment they hear the word ‘cancer’ and TCT is the only charity dedicated to making this happen, uniting young people so they can be treated together, by teenage cancer experts, in the best place for them.
