“A slice of plant-based perfection”. This independent eatery is an absolute must – imagine wooden crates stacked with fresh fruit, chunky wooden tables, and cool slate coloured walls. Beyond the Kale are all about community and is completely built on personal touches. Everything is vegan and they don’t scream and shout about it – making it a foolproof place to take your skeptical friends. 

 

The Green Rocket Café

The informal setting of The Green Rocket Cafe is a wonderful place to spend an afternoon, you’ll be welcomed into a relaxing environment where families, friends and couples can meet up. Choose to sit inside or out to take in the great views of the city - and it’s the fitting place to people watch. Their scrumptious food is also produced in-house, locally and they use seasonal produce – which is great if you’re an eco-friendly advocate.

 

Chaiwalla

‘Chai’ comes from Hindu and means tea and ‘walla’ means someone who performs a specific task, therefore ‘chaiwalla’ basically means someone who pours tea – fun fact. This Indian inspired eatery is a colourful addition to Monmouth Street offering delicious vegan street food. With incredible smells surrounding you, you’ll want to go there for every meal just so you can try each of the multitude of options on the menu.

Everything here is sourced naturally and sustainably as their focus is to help look after the planet and this is shown throughout the interiors, food and staff. Acorn is an excellent place for those of you who are real foodies, whether you choose to eat meat or not, everyone who comes here revels in the array of tasty food. The only steps they wish to take is from the land to plants in the kitchen to food in people’s mouths.

If you’re someone who loves to try new dishes and meals, dishes you may not have even thought of putting together - Nourish is the place. Experience a friendly environment with food that has influences from all over the world and the owners are happy to give their own recommendations. You’ll be impressed by the selection of food in a vibrant and comfortable atmosphere with local artwork decorating the walls.

Eight is a modern yet wholesome eatery situated in a delightful boutique townhouse amongst the Roman Baths. The reason for its name is that they have eight different dishes on their menu that change with each season, as they’re about quality, not quantity.

 

Rooted Café and Supper Room

20 Newbridge Rd, Bath BA1 3JX

A gorgeous family run business that won’t disappoint, offering tasty nutritious food that suits a quick bite, casual lunch or supper. You’ll want to try everything off the menu and just looking at it will make your tummy rumble. They’re seasonal, sustainable and local, with it being just a little out of the centre it will definitely be worth the trip.
