Ways to celebrate your graduation in ManchesterTuesday 17 April 2018 by Jessica Mendoza It's your big day so we think you deserve the finer things of life. That's why SACO Manchester is offering you their properties to be your family home over the graduation weekend, we've even given you a two day itinerary... Thank us later!
Alabama's, Northern Quarter
It’s your big day – so you’re going to need a good breakfast to set you up for it. First things first, head over to Alabama's, Northern Quarter… You’ll be spoiled for choice with the selection on offer – from classic fry ups to Benny’s crab cakes. Or if you have a sweet tooth, dig into the buttermilk pancakes, vanilla waffles or French toast. Bon Appetite!
Explore the town centre and the quays of Manchester
After breakfast, start exploring the wonderful city of Manchester. Like most major cities, Manchester has been used as a film setting before – Pride and Prejudice, Sherlock Holmes, Captain America… can you spot any iconic locations? Alongside your movie spotting adventures, make sure to visit the wonderful waterside location just 10 minutes from the city centre. The Lowry, Imperial War Museum North, Old Trafford Stadium and Lancashire County Cricket Club are also within walking distance from each other, depending upon how much time you have.
As you know, Manchester’s Northern Quarter isn’t short of edgy restaurants that serve casual food and lovely beers. Common’s salt beef hash and Korean fried chicken with hot gochuchang sauce is one of Manchester best burgers… yep, it’s a burger. Get a main for only £6.
SACO Manchester – Piccadilly
Or alternatively, pop to your local supermarket and cook up some of your favourites from your very own SACO apartment. Lunch, hair, make up on the go is quite the challenge but easier when you have your very own bedroom and lounge to move freely in. You’ll be graduation-ready in no time.
Congratulations on graduating! It’s now time to celebrate in style.
Zouk Tea Bar & Grill
Celebrity favourite Zouk is a great choice for graduation celebrations as it’s easily walkable from Manchester University. Zouk has an all-weather outdoor terrace with a VIP booth which can be booked out privately to celebrate. Of course, it would be rude not to try one (maybe five, it’s a big day after all) of the 40 different cocktails on the drinks menu, such as a signature Zouk Breeze and Pornstar Martini, alongside claiming your free glass of prosecco.
After an evening of celebrating your incredible achievements, head back to SACO Manchester for a much needed, comfortable sleep. Don’t forget to get a glass of water and a piece of toast just before bed – we don’t want you waking up with a sore head!
Good morning! It’s time for another mouth-watering breakfast. We can safely say Koffee Pot remains the area’s destination of choice for hangover-banishing breakfasts. Street art walls, spacious red boots, full English breakfast – or if you want to go fancy – the shakshouka and smoked haddock complimented with a Bloody Mary… perfect.
Time for some much needed retail therapy – after all, you deserve a little pampering after four years of endless assignments and exams. Head straight to the Northern Quarter where you’ll find tonnes of independent and quirky shops! Piccadilly Records, Oi Polloi, Pop Boutique, and Retro Rehab – you’re sure to find something you love.
Tattu Restaurant & Bar
This restaurant is absolutely beautiful and has taken Instagram by storm with its orient floral decoration. Don’t be fooled, just because the decoration is incredible doesn’t mean the food is any less. From wild mushroom spring rolls like you've never tasted to succulent black cod in saffron and cocktails with exotic flavours you’re guaranteed to leave Manchester with a smile on your face.
Unfortunately, it’s time to leave the beloved Manchester and head home. Or alternatively, speak to our SACO Manchester Reception Team and treat yourself to one more night…
