If you’re visiting Birmingham soon or thinking of visiting, then here are our top picks of events that are happening over the coming months.
23rd December – 14th January 2015, Town Hall
In this delightful adaptation from the hugely successful book of the same name, Sophie and her mum entertain a very unusual visitor at teatime!
Starting on 6th February, then every Friday at 5.30pm, Spotlight, Digbeth
Voted the Best Street Food Event in the UK in 2014,Digbeth Dining Club is on a mission to revolutionise the way people think about food. Their aim is to bring “street food” to Birmingham, showcasing the best locally sourced food and providing people with affordable, delicious meals. This also ties in with Digbeth First Friday, which is a monthly event that runs across Digbeth on the first Friday of the month featuring exhibitions, late-night openings, events, music, food and much more. 7th March, The Bond in Digbeth
Returning for its third year, bigger and better than ever, is Birmingham’s Whisky festival. Do not be mistaken – this is not for those wishing to dilute their whisky – this is a chance for whisky connoisseurs, or those who wish to be, to learn more about the drink they love. Expect tasting sessions, whisky and cheese matching, and a number of other masterclasses for whisky enthusiasts.
10th – 21st March, Birmingham Hippodrome
This award winning show takes us back to 1935, following Jerry Travers across Europe in pursuit of Dale Tremont. Featuring some of Irving Berlin’s most famous hits, including Top Hat, White Tie and Tails, Let’s Face the Music and Dance and many others, and some spectacular dancing, this show is sure to delight audiences of all ages.
12th April, Genting Arena
After their incredibly successful tour last year, Paul Simon and Sting are heading to Europe and will be performing at the Genting Arena in April. Performing all of their greatest hits – and more – this is sure to have everyone singing along with them.

For the chocoholics among the population, Cadbury World is the perfect destination. Embark on a journey starting in Mexico, travel with Hernán Cortéz to Europe, visit John Cadbury’s first shop, learn how chocolate is made, watch the production and packing process and end up in the world’s biggest Cadbury shop to stock up on treats to take home.
