Where to Brunch in Bristol

Thursday 16 February 2017 by Florence Evans Brunch has taken the lead when it comes to our favourite mealtimes – let’s face it, the excitement of waking up to head out for something delicious accompanied by a flat white is just irresistible. Bristol has so much to offer on the brunch scene that it can sometimes be hard to decide where to go – so here are our top picks for you to choose from:

For a fresh twist on brunch that still has all the best parts of a full English… Rosemarino’s

Rosemarino’s is best described as brunch with a Mediterranean twist and you’ll be blown away by the gorgeously presented food and a delightful setting. The pastel hues of this restaurant suit its Clifton Village location, while the staff are sure to put a smile on your face and provide nothing but exceptional service. Rosemarino’s main show is its classic British breakfasts, including favourites such as eggs Florentine or Royale, with a delightfully Italian twist. Expect to tuck into fragrant focaccia instead of toast and ricotta soufflé, all with sweet flavours of tomatoes and peppers to make for a refreshing take on the classic fry up. Bristolians love it there – to them it looks like it should be overpriced and stuffy, but it’s neither, and that’s the beauty of it. This place is a cosy haven for those who want to enjoy some Italian sophistication in the morning. Try the Rosemarino Breakfast and feel warm from the inside out.

If you’re hungry, and you want simple classics… Primrose Café

For a hearty breakfast that absolutely ticks all the boxes, the Primrose Café is the place to go. Nestled on a charming side street in the heart of Clifton Village, the façade is adorned with pretty hanging baskets of flowers and inside the décor is pleasantly bohemian. It is the perfect setting for their bubble and squeak, or the ‘Full Monty’ (AKA the works). Come here if you have a big appetite that’s only satisfied by something truly scrumptious.

Somewhere a little more continental… Twelve Clifton

If you are looking for more of a sweet than a savoury offering, then Twelve’s breakfast menu leans more towards continental. Enjoy fresh fruit smoothies, porridge with superfood toppings or avocado on toast for a revitalizing start to the day, in a gorgeous setting sure to make you want to stay all day long.

Something snazzy and totally Instagram-worthy… Pinkman’s Bakery

Custard-dipped brioche with maple bacon anyone? Bristol’s favourite bakery provides show-stopping breakfasts that you need to know about. Once you’ve worked up an appetite with a hike up Park street (only ten minutes away from our Broad Quay apartments, we promise) and get comfortable, Pinkman’s is worth it that extra effort. With their award-winning credentials behind them, they offer stunning breakfast treats – try the wood-fired mushrooms on sourdough toast, or the cornbread, smoked salmon, avocado and crème fraiche to get the best taste of this (not so hidden) gem.

When you want to excite your taste buds with a little Sunshine …. Bakers and Co

Bringing flavours of San Francisco to Gloucester road, Bakers and Co has gone down a storm in Bristol. It’s not surprising, as it’s unique menu has exciting and sunny twists, such as hot Huevos Rancheros and spicy chilli and lime-spiked avocado smashed on toast - beautifully received and well renowned in the city. Visit for a different kind of brunch that won’t disappoint.
