Library of Birmingham

An architectural delight worth visiting!

The Library of Birmingham might not sound like your typical tourist hot spot, but it will not fail to disappoint.

Designed by the Dutch architect firm Mecanoo and opening in 2013 it is a modern masterpiece of the city, winning numerous awards for its design and impact on the city!

Described as the largest public library in the UK, open from 11am Monday – Saturday, this new library has a lot to offer from award winning architecture to its archive & music libraries to explore.

What’s more the Library of Birmingham is connected to The Rep, Birmingham’s longest-established theatre company with three auditoriums; also worth visiting if time allows.
