If you’re looking for relaxation, we highly recommend heading to Ravenscourt Park and either have a picnic or explore the renowned cafes surrounding the area. Ravenscourt Park is a beautiful location and will provide a unique view when you eat.
Hammersmith & City is the main tube station in the area and is served by the Central, District and Circle lines. There is also a number of London bus routes covering the area, including a night bus service so that you can travel around the area 24 hours a day.
Things to watch out for
The Thames! A riverside walk is a must whilst you’re in Hammersmith, embrace the unique beauty of the river. We also recommend visiting The Dove or The Blue Anchor whilst on your walk, for a drink or a pub lunch - they have a gorgeous riverside location with an excellent selection of beers and spirits.
Live music is booming in Hammersmith, which is no surprise considering the volume of live music venues. O2 Shepherd’s Bush Empire has seen the likes of The Wombats and Feeder, Bush Hall opened in 1904 and has been used as a dance hall ever since and finally, Eventim Apollo where everyone from David Bowie to Kyle Minogue has performed.
Make sure to enjoy a show at the fabulous Lyric Hammersmith, the theatre hosts amazing productions for both adults and children, it also has a roof garden that hosts lovely summer barbecues.
Hammersmith is also home to BBC Television Centre, get on the audience list for show recordings so you can marvel at the ‘electric donut’ and see the Doctor Who TARDIS. Also a must see is Fulham Palace, a former summer retreat of the Bishops of London was once surrounded by the largest moated site in England and dates back to 1495 - stunning and iconic.
Westfield London in Shepherds Bush is a shopaholics dream - you’ll find over 260 luxury and high street shops, as well as department stores. Of course, London does not fall short of places to shop, make sure to take advantage of the tube links and check out Oxford Street, Regent Street, Bond Street and Mayfair.
