Where to shop in Zurich

If you’re looking for big, Zurich’s Einkaufszentrum Glatt takes the throne of Switzerland’s largest shopping centre. With almost 100 shops spread over 43,000m2, it has everything you need. Restaurants, facilities to entertain children and two department stores, it’s worth the trip.

And although it’s located just outside the city, it’s easy to access, just 20 minutes from the train station Glatt. Shopaholics will not be disappointed!

Although the most important location in Zurich for finance and Business, the Bahnhofstrasse can also lay claim to being the most famous for shopping. Gucci, Tiffany and co, Kurz and more, line the streets where elegance and variety meets, catering for all. Where horse drawn carriages used to roam trams have now taken over turning it into a true modern city.

The old town, east of the river Limmat known as Niederdorf, is formally known for its restaurants and fine dining, shopping here is not out of the question. Here holds a larger number of independent shops selling current fashion items and impressive shoes.  Don’t dismiss the smaller side streets as very often they’re hiding just what you’ve been looking for!

In another section of the old town between the Bahnhofstrasse and the river Limmat, aim to come across the pedestrian streets Rennweg and Storchengasse. Here, international clothing brands and boutiques are the focal point. However the shining light on this street is the genuine Zurich toy shop. If in need of some souvenir shopping these two streets should help fill the suitcase perfectly!
