The Cannon - an urban retreat in The City

We wanted to create an ambience that was reminiscent of staying at a friend's townhouse, combining a traditional British feel with the best of modern living. Focusing on British design and furnishings, we celebrate the character and history of the building and it's unique location.

Our approach has been to take the best of the lifestyle hotel experience and blend it with serviced apartment living. We have taken an experienced, thoughtful, timely and timeless approach to interior design and using our knowledge and long experience as industry leaders have delivered a unique quality proposition for today’s travellers, combining the freedom of their own living space, the fastest Wi-Fi and an imaginative communal area at an affordable price.

The end result is an offering that is forward thinking but still comfortable, elegant but still evoking the feeling of home, distinct but still familiar, reassuring and restful.

The location

You will be one of the “chosen few” to actually live in the Square Mile. Staying at SACO The Cannon puts you on the very doorstep of all it has to offer from its hidden secrets to establishments seeped in history, tradition and iconic world famous landmarks.  Vibrant with eateries and watering holes of every description – you won’t have to venture far to satisfy your tastebuds – but if you want to go further, SACO The Cannon allows for easy access to the rest of London.

The welcome

As you walk through the door you will immediately sense the feeling of welcome and feeling of calm and peace.   The buzz of the city will fade away and you will start to relax and unwind.  A member of the team will be there to meet you, get you checked in and up to your apartment or settle you with a drink in the warm and inviting Lounge area.  The team are all experts on their apartments, the location and London – no question will go unanswered. 

Connected

We know that Wi-Fi access is almost as essential as something to eat and drink.  We have made it as easy and fast as possible, connect your device or all your devices and off you go.  If you want the detail its 100mb up and 100mb down!  And its totally free.

The detail

We have taken the expression “The devil is in the detail” to a new level.  You won’t even notice most of them but if you do these are a few you may stumble across:

• Underfloor heating in the bathroom – how lovely is that?
• Bathroom mirrors that don’t mist up – no matter how much steam you generate
• Multi sockets in the apartments – USB ports, EU and of course UK sockets
• Peace and quiet – cleverly and discreetly designed secondary glazing blocks out the noise of the city thundering past outside
• The beds have been designed so that you can hide your bags and suitcases away

Watch what you want, when you want 

The 43” flat screen SMART TV’s in every apartment are loaded with information about your apartment and the area, have loads of TV channels including 100’s of international ones and best of all, you can connect any device and carry on your normal media choices and viewing – just stream your chosen content onto the screen.

Alone but not alone

We know it can be lonely travelling – so if you want to escape the peace and quiet of your apartment, head downstairs to The Cannon Lounge where you can relax over a coffee, whilst checking your emails, flicking through one of the magazines and newspapers, check out the well-stocked library of books or watch the TV.  No doubt you will meet other like-minded guests.  There is also a large communal table for guests to work on their laptops in a distinctly homely atmosphere.

Sleep

Other than Wi-Fi – nothing is more important than a great night’s sleep.  We have made sure that the king-size beds are unbelievably comfortable, the bedlinen is crisp and white and the pillows plump and accommodating for tired heads.  Not quite to your liking – check with the team and they will offer you alternatives more to your liking in the pillow and duvet department.

Healthy!

Carry on and live how you like to live at home.  Prepare and cook in your preferred style, go out for a run, borrow a yoga mat or use the gym.  And when you’ve worked up a sweat – cleaning up is easy with laundry facilities on hand.
