Explore Glasgow’s grand quarter

Situated at the top of the city on Gilmore Hill, a walk to the University of Glasgow will provide good views across Scotland’s biggest city.

The university itself is a grand affair, with a chapel to explore; and if your timing is right you might even hear the choir practicing.

Founded in 1451, with exam halls dating back to 1879 it’s a spectacular exemplar of Glaswegian architecture.

The small Hunterian museum and art gallery situated within the university is a bonus, with a lot of historical artefacts from the Roman ages on display.

With the nearby Mackintosh house, as well as grand Georgian buildings, it’s a beautiful corner of the city to explore during your stay.
